Armada Does Leftovers

11/24/13  at 11:01 AM
Armada Does Leftovers

What's the best part of Thanksgiving?  No, not the football. Cog no, not the football.

It's the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that!  It's all those LEFTOVERS!  This year, Armada's Scoundrel Fleet has decided to skip all the hard work of cooking a Thanksgiving feast and will be jumping DIRECTLY to the leftovers.

If you'd like to enjoy leftovers with the Scoundrel Fleet, come on by after the big day, anytime from November 29th through December 1st. We'll have plank tables out at the "To Hull and Back" bar at Fleet Headquarters, situated on scenic Scarlet Bay in the Blake Sea.

You might even find a plate of your OWN leftovers, iffin you aren't in the habit of locking your windows at night.

ALSO!  Look for Kimika Ying's magnificent trebuchet, free gifts, a walking treasure tour of the island and who knows what else!

*ALERT!!* Sunday at 10am slt, the Scoundrel Fleet will be picking the tables clean. If you want to fight them for the last drumstick, come on by.

Steampunk Piracy Discussion at the Mary Read Library

6/28/13  at 9:54 AM

As part of the full weekend of Swashbucklers for Life events, you are cordially invited to join the Scoundrel Fleet at the Mary Read Pirate Library in the Blake Sea, on Sunday, June 30th, 2013, from 9:30 to 10:30am SLT.

Steampunk Piracy Discussion
Moving Piracy to the Year 1890

Although piracy was almost wiped out during the age of sail, the newest advances in  technology of the late 1800's have allowed men of fortune to resume the noble trade of the seas.

Commander Vernden Jervil, formerly of Armada Breakaway and now shipwrecked retired in the Blake Sea, leads us in an hour of discussion about  advances in steampunk technology that have affected the pirate trade allowing our time honored profession to thrive on the land, sea and air.

LOOT! A Celebration of Stealing Stuff! (and Happy Anniversary, Armada!)

1/15/12  at 8:36 AM
Loot!

An aging parrot careens onto the deck of your ship, bashing his beak soundly against your rum cup. He seems to snort in annoyance as he drops a scrolled message next to your drink, shakes the ruffles out of his feathers and takes to the skies again, vanishing in the clouds. You pick up the scroll and read:

Right! It's time to celebrate another successful year for Armada and the Scoundrels. Now success can be measured in many ways. Around here, it's by the quality and quantity of our stolen treasures. There is no better way to scrutinize ones collected “Loot” than to steer towards warm water and break out what amounts to a stolen makeshift beach and have a party.

So it's a party we're having to honor our skill, our cunning, our thievery and our survival. This past year we have stolen some spectacular treasures and oddities. Some of them deserve high praise, some a bit of shame. To sort this out, a contest will be held to bestow bragging rights to the pirate with the best stolen prize. Also, as is our custom, there will be a daring battle game to test your wits and spill some blood for sport. Right.

Er ...um, some of you might recognize some of your possessions as you glance around. Never you mind, we’ll take good care of them and thanks for your contribution.

Sincerely,
Captain Static

How to find us! Set course for Scar's Edge - If the sim is full, head for the overflow area at Armada Breakaway.

The following is an announcement from Captain Static - listen up, you lot!

Its a race on the seas fraught with dangers and peril. Its a race where luck and nerve are the only ways to beat your opponents while avoiding eerie fog, unspeakable fires, clever traps, and huge obstacles... basically, all your worst fears at sea.

All this on a remade turtle who's loyalty may not be with you. Welcome to the nightmare I say and good luck to all who dare. The winner gets a trophy and a Rum on the house. Do you have what it takes to survive Hell Race? Join us if you dare.

Tea and Crumpets - Blood and Flags

7/6/11  at 11:57 AM

And now a message from Captain Static...

“Love and scandal are the best sweeteners of tea.” ~Henry Fielding, Love in Several Masques

The Scoundrels are hosting a High Tea as only a bunch of drunken pirates can. For those unfamiliar, tea is a habit of those city fancy pants folks which includes sweet cakes and other tasties. We’ve made some fine connections.. er um ..friends across the Steamlands. I thought it time we put their fears concerning us being uncivilized rogues to rest. If they happen to divulge information about the shipments of goods, or where certain stores of valuables are kept while having a relaxing cup, I am all the happier. Now, I like my tea “sweet”… and with a bit of rum. Scandal, love and rum are nothing new to pirates. Neither are weapons. To keep the festivities civil.. we will be hosting 'capture the flag' ironclad battles at the event, with proper tea ships no fancy pants could ever think as barbaric. So, scoundrels, dust off your finest. Let's show the Steamlands the “sweetness” of being a pirate, and rob them blind at a later date. But that’s between us.

Join the Scoundrels in Armada for High Tea - July 23rd, 8pm slt!
